What stays in your browser
Everything you enter to build a robots.txt, including bots, paths, rules and any file you paste, is processed in your browser. It is not uploaded. The app remembers your last choices in your browser's local storage so a reload does not lose your work. You can clear this in your browser settings or with the Reset everything button.
Optional alerts
You can choose to get a notification when the bot list changes. Nothing is asked of you until you press the button on the Guide page and allow notifications in your browser.
What we store: the push address and encryption keys your browser creates for this site, and the date they were created. We do not ask for your name or email and we do not link this to anything else.
Who is involved: your browser's push service (for example Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft) delivers the message. The push address is stored in a database run by Supabase, and the site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs.
How long: until you turn alerts off or your browser's address stops working, then it is deleted. Turning alerts off on the Guide page deletes the stored record straight away. You can also block notifications for this site in your browser settings.

Hosting and logs
Like most websites, the host keeps standard server logs of requests, which can include IP addresses and browser details. This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
